本片由唐佳导演，着名武侠小说家黄鹰编剧，影帝狄龙主演。剧情讲述广东十虎之首铁桥三(狄龙饰)，乃民团总教练，时烟禁已开，鸦片公卖，官绅贩卒均以吸食鸦片为尚，而铁亦随俗吸食，功力渐受毒害不自知。烟馆主人荣峰(陈观泰饰)乘铁无复当年勇时，公然挑战；铁勉力应战，险象环生，幸得徒弟卢瓜四(麦德罗饰)舍身相救，才不致丧命……
