The story begins in 1996 outside Moonlight Cake Shop. Everybody is waiting to buy cakes but only egg tarts are available since the shop owner CHUNG SIU HOR has gone to the court. HOR is fighting for the custody of her six children with her ex-husband KAM TAI CHO. During the hearing, HOR blames CHO for not knowing the children well and for committing adultery with YAN HUNG. After reviewing the case, the judge grants the custody of WING KA, WING YUEN and WING CHUNG to CHO. On the other hand, HOR is granted the custody of WING HO, WING HING and her adopted daughter SUEN HO YUET. Ten years later, HOR’s younger sister SIU SA returns from Portugal. Her father CHUNG FAN TAT prepares dinner for her on the 16th of August of the Lunar calendar. SA realizes that HOR can only meet up with KA, YUEN and CHUNG on the next day of the mid-autumn festival. CHO’s mother KWAN LAI suddenly comes to the cake shop to scold HOR. HOR’s neighbors find LAI extremely unreasonable so they help kicking her away. HING uses sign language to talk to his family members. SA misconceives that he is teasing her and she reveals to everybody that she has divorced with her husband. After divorcing with HOR, CHO tried to draw HOR’s cake master LIN CHI YUNG to his cake shop by paying him higher salary. After that, HOR had no choice but to give up selling moon cakes. SUM follows HO to his home and she spends a great time with her childhood friends. HO asks LAI to allow all grandchildren to dine with their grandfather TAT on mid-autumn festival and LAI agrees. HUNG requests CHO to take away the signboard of Moonlight Cake Shop at HOR’s shop. CHO visits HOR and HOR tries to lock SA in the room. HO learns that CHO comes to make an unreasonable request and he releases SA deliberately.… ...

TAT prepares the dinner menu for his grandchildren happily. However, he suddenly learns that LAI has changed her mind and he is very disappointed. LAI suddenly refuses to allow TAT dining with the grandchildren because she recalls a past grievance about her deceased son TAI CHEUN. During the time, CHEUN tried to borrow money from HOR but HOR refused. CHEUN had no choice but to commit suicide eventually. HOR requests CHO to keep his promise. HUNG discovers that YUNG wants to move to another shop so she fires him and warns all other cake shops not to hire him. YUNG doesn’t know what to do and he turns to HOR for help. HUNG discovers this and she prevents the grandchildren from dinning with TAT. HOR calls HUNG to apologize and HUNG is satisfied. HUNG discovers that SUM is joining the reunion dinner and she is enraged. She rushes to the restaurant with LAI to stop everybody from having the dinner.… ...

During breakfast, HUNG apologizes to the sons and she tries to explain her relationship with CHO to them but KA responds to her coldly. In fact, KA never recognizes HUNG as his mother from the very beginning. CHUNG is going to continue his study in England. HOR discovers that CHUNG acts strangely in Hong Kong and she wants to find out the reason behind. HOR rushes to the airport but she cannot get close to CHUNG when CHO and HUNG are around. SA is against YUET all the time for she thinks that YUET is only an adopted child and they fight with each other all the time. YUET discovers that TAT suddenly withdraws all his savings and she informs HOR immediately. HOR questions SA for the reason of borrowing 400 thousand dollars from TAT. SA reveals that she needs the money for a lawsuit with her ex-husband. With the help of SUM, HO accompanies HING to a job interview and HING gets the job successfully.… ...

HOR meets up with KA and she asks KA if he has carried out his promise to take care of YUEN and CHUNG. HO deliberately asks her eldest son KA to stay with CHO ten years ago so that KA could take care of his younger brother and sister. SA borrows money from TAT again and TAT reminds her to treat YUET kindly. SA tries to please YUET but they end up fighting with each other again. YUET suddenly decides to move out and live with her friends. HO rejects the idea but YUET insists to do so. YUET has actually rented a small flat for herself alone. She is broke for she has borrowed money from the credit company on behalf of her boyfriend. SA discovers an email from YUET in HING’s mailbox and she prints it out to everybody. YUET’s boyfriend fails to pay the debt and YUET is fired because of this. YUET is afraid of the creditors so she tries not to return to her little flat. All family members finally find YUET.… ...

TAT and HOR are worried for SA has been disappeared for 4 days. However, SA suddenly shows up and invites everybody to a dinner. During the dinner, SA reveals that she will go to Portugal for a lawsuit soon. KA is not able to find 2 models for a product launch event so he asks his two younger sisters to do the job. KA also convinces his boss ELIZA to hire YUET as an assistant. A westerner comes to the cake shop to buy cakes and SUM helps with the translation. HOR wants to treat SUM for dinner but SUM suggests that she wants to join a charity event instead. SUM and HO joins a charity walkathon together and they recall the memories in the past. SUM opens HO’s letter at home and realizes that HO gave up studying in order to help HOR in the cake shop. SUM realizes that she had helped breaking up the family unintentionally. KA promises HOR that he will stop trading stocks but he is still addicted to stock exchanges.

HOR asks CHO out and reveals to him that KA is addicted to stock trading. CHO discusses the case with LAI. He suggests that KA should work in the cake shop and LAI agrees. CHO organizes a birthday celebration for SUM. He seeks for HUNG’s permission for allowing KA to work in the cake shop and HUNG agrees eventually. CHO suggests KA to handle their cake shop business during dinner and HUNG only wants KA to work in the smallest cake shop. Nobody follow up the case eventually. SA suddenly appears again and she reveals that she has got 4 million dollars compensation from her ex-husband. She wants to become a shareholder of HOR’s cake shop and HOR agrees reluctantly. SA plans to expand their business so she tries to recruit cake master by herself. HOR discovers that all the cake masters hired by SA are not qualified and SA is embarrassed. SA persuades TAT to name the cake shop as “Moonlight Cake Shop” again.… ...

SA requests CHO to make a compensation of 50 million dollars to the cake shop. CHO and HUNG object the idea and they fight with SA in the court. CHO and HUNG tell lies in the court and they claims that HOR voluntarily handed over the brand name of “Moonlight Cake Shop” to them long time ago. SA loses the case and she calls HUNG a drug smuggler outside the court. HUNG is enraged. She decides to sue SA for defamation and she requests for a compensation of 4 million dollars. HOR decides to apologize to HUNG on behalf of SA even though all her children object the idea. HOR and YUNG arrive at HUNG’s place and they promises to give 200 thousand dollars compensation to HUNG but HUNG responds to her with harsh words. While sending HOR away, HUNG deliberately makes her fall and HOR is hurt. HOR cannot bear to reveal the tricks played by HUNG. On the next day, LAI is absent for breakfast and HUNG goes to LAI's room to apologize. HUNG cries for mercy in front of LAI and LAI finally forgives her. SUM starts working in the hospital and she comes across a traffic accident while chatting with HO on the phone after work. HO rushes to the scene to help the victims with SUM. He also buys clothes and shoes for SUM to change for he knows that SUM is going to have dinner with the family. SUM is very grateful about it. KA is not able to hand in his report on time. He tries to solve the problem by kissing ELIZA voluntarily. On the next day, YUET tells KA that he has caused huge loss to the company by not carrying out his duty properly. KA tries to please ELIZA by sending her flowers but ELIZA fires him in return. ELIZA had tolerated KA for a long time simply because HUNG sent her many gifts before. HO invites CHO for dinner at home. CHO is shocked to meet CHUNG there because CHUNG is supposed to be studying in England. CHUNG wants to quit schooling and HO supports him. CHO calls for a family meeting and blames HO for spoiling CHUNG. CHUNG cannot bear to tell the truth about his inability in studying. CHO finally accepts the reality but he asks everybody to keep this secret. KA suddenly borrows 30 thousand dollars from WING HO because he wants to move away from the KAM’s family. KA meets an old neighbor Granny WAN and he realizes that WAN loses all her money in the stock market. YUET discovers that KA didn’t rent a flat. She misconceives that KA uses the money to buy stocks again and she wants to tell HO about this. KA fails to stop YUET and he gets mad. Everybody organize a surprise birthday party for SA and SA is overjoyed.

SA introduces her good friend Mr CHU to YUNG. CHU wants to open a Chinese style franchise cake shop in Australia and he decides to hire YUNG as the cake master. YUNG realizes that he can reunite with his younger sister CHUI PING who studies in Australia and he is overjoyed. YUNG reveals his plan to HO and HO wishes him all the best. HO suffers from backache and the doctor suggests her to have an operation for removing the spur and all her children are nervous. LAI visits WING HO at the cake shop. SA invites her for a walk with YUNG. They consoles LAI and convinces her to let go of the past. SA discovers that CHUNG cannot read simple Chinese and English. She therefore calls him a half illiterate. CHUNG cries silently at the corner of a basketball court. His brothers and sisters come to console him. They also persuade him to join a boat contest. HO tries to watch CHUNG’s boat contest through her mobile phone before the operation.

HO’s operation is successful and everybody come to visit her at the hospital. When CHO visits her, HO reveals to him that she wants to teach CHUNG on her own. LAI returns home to find that KA is moving out. KA wants to open a PR firm and he takes it as an excuse for moving out. TAT and everybody decide to take CHUNG home. SA discovers their plan and she calls LAI secretly to reveal the truth. LAI is enraged. She threatens everybody that she will stop eating and taking medicine until CHUNG and KA return home. After discussing with HUNG, LAI also forces CHO to swear that he will not meet up with HO again. CHO has no choice but to swear in front of LAI. All the grandchildren come to visit LAI. HING indirectly reminds LAI about her selfishness. HO recovers and she returns home. SA tries to put the blame on others but HO discovers her tricks and she scolds her harshly.

All grandchildren visit LAI with a birthday cake made by HO on her birthday and LAI is overjoyed. While trying to look for a hair dryer, WING HO finds SUM in her room. SUM shows him the trophies she has got in school. WING HO discovers that SUM is still keeping the cassette tapes he sent to her long time ago and he feels very happy. KA discovers that ELIZA always gives YUET a hard time. He tries to record ELIZA’s voice when she scolds YUET and then plays it in front of everybody. ELIZA is deeply embarrassed and she fires YUET. KA reveals that he is going to open a PR firm and CHO asks him to design the promotional plan for their wedding cakes. CHO shares KA’s idea with HUNG but HUNG discloses KA’s plan to ELIZA. During the promotional event, ELIZA plays tricks on KA and all 38 pairs of couples that KA invited fail to show up on the day.

HUNG learns that CHO is staying in HO’s home for a celebration party and she is displeased. HUNG finds YUEN sitting by the pool alone for YUEN has lost his love recently. She encourages YUEN to concentrate on his work instead but she finds that YUEN hasn’t think about the promotional plan at all 3 days later. HUNG wants to fire KUNG for not teaching YUEN properly. She also forces CHO not to see HO and the children again. HING suddenly resigns and WING HO is puzzled. WING HO and SUM find that HING is arguing with a man called KA LOK on the street. They rush to HING’s side to protect her. LOK asks HING out and he reveals to her that he wants a separation because she is mute. HUNG and LAI return from a hot spring trip in China. KUNG reports to them that CHO is keeping contact with HO and the children. HUNG, LAI and KUNG visit HO. CHO hides away successfully. However, since CHO is in such a hurry, he is knocked down by a car accidentally.

CHO is frightened and he asks HO to help him. The ambulance arrives and LAI asks HO to accompany CHO to the hospital. HUNG is displeased. CHO loses his eyesight temporarily. HUNG visits him and she learns that CHO thinks that HO’s family is a happier place to stay. HUNG is enraged. SA tells everybody that HUNG wants to give 80% of the shares of “Moonlight Cake Shop” to all the children but everybody react to the news coldly. HUNG announces to the KAM’s family that she has decided to pass “Moonlight Cake Shop” to all the children and she will travel around the world with CHO for 2 years. HUNG learns that ELIZA is attacking KA’s company all the time and she tries to help KA. CHUNG reveals to HO that he has quit his job as a computer salesman because HUNG has promised to appoint him as a manager in the IT department of “Moonlight Cake Shop”.

SA tries to speculate on properties but she fails to sell the premises. She asks all family members to give her money. She thinks that the family’s money is her money and everybody finds her unreasonable. SA asks LAI out and she reveals to LAI that HO is making use of the children to take revenge on KAM’s family. She suggests LAI to organize a birthday party for HO in order to please her. During the birthday party, all the old neighbors who had moved to other countries return to see HO. It was CHO who paid for the air tickets secretly. All children try to perform a comedy to HO as well during the party. SUM meets a pregnant woman in the shopping center and this woman is about to deliver her baby suddenly. While trying to help her, she meets Dr LING CHI SHUN. HUNG suggests KA to take care of all the promotional campaign for Moonlight Cake Shop. KA is in great debt and he agrees reluctantly. Everybody goes to KAM’s family for dinner. HUNG brings KA and other staffs to home and she reveals that KA is going to produce a TV commercial for Moonlight Cake Shop. KUNG suggests that they could replay a past incident when HUNG lost her baby accidentally because of YUEN. KA cannot bear to disclose the truth to everybody. HUNG tells her story agitatedly and she collapses suddenly. LOK and HING meet each other in the rain and they decide to reunite with each other. WING HO returns home and discovers that everybody is cheerful. This is because SA has discovered that HING and LOK are dating again. LOK’s mother KUEN even suggests that the two families should meet each other. HO and the family members meet KUEN for tea but KUEN suddenly leaves. HO rushes out and KUEN reveals that she doesn’t want her son to date with HING. LOK goes to HO’s place for dinner secretly but KUEN discovers it. HO rushes back to mediate between them and she speaks for KUEN. SHUN invites SUM for a seafood dinner at Lamma Island and they find that they share a lot of common interests.… ...

SUM meets SHUN at the hospital. She discovers many baby photos with thank you letters in SHUN’s office and her impression on SHUN is getting even better. HUNG’s ex-husband HAK KEUNG suddenly comes to look for her at Moonlight Cake Shop but HUNG treats him coldly. HUNG reveals to LAI that she wants to travel around the world with CHO for 2 years. CHO reveals the travel plan to his children at HO’s place and all the children are dissatisfied. CHO becomes drunk at HO’s place and he asks everybody to scold him. On the next day when CHO leaves, all the children say that they have forgiven him. SHUN plays trick to date SUM again after work and they spend a romantic evening together. The doctor tells LAI that she is suffering from Myodegeneratio cordis and LAI is worried. HUNG worries that if LAI reveals her disease to everybody, her travel plan will be cancelled.… ...

LAI asks WING HO and TING out but she fails to show up. WING HO discovers that LAI has collapsed at the bridge. KUNG informs HUNG that LAI is in the hospital and HUNG decides not to tell CHO about this. KUNG calls HUNG again. He lies to HUNG that LAI has wakened up for a while and she has apologized to HO when she’s awake. HUNG is enraged and she further confirms that she will not tell CHO about LAI’s case. MUI wants to call HUNG but KUNG stops her. Their conversation is overheard by YUET. YUET tells HO about this and HO begs MUI to give her the telephone number of HUNG but KUNG stops her from doing so. LAI’s condition is getting worse at midnight. HO is frightened. She shouts to LAI desperately and encourages her to carry on. LAI finally survives the critical phase. SHUN invites SUM to Lamma Island again and they spends the whole evening talking to each other.

WING HO tries to declare his love to SUM by a cake but SUM replies to him that she only treats him as a brother. Everybody go to visit LAI at the hospital and LAI ask them not to disclose her illness to CHO. HO also asks YUET to promise not to disclose the case to CHO. SA announces that her daughter KA MEI will come to Hong Kong to reunite with her. SA empties her room for MEI and YUET is forced to share the room with SA. SUM loses contact with SHUN but she finds his blog on the Internet and she feels that there is a special bond between them. CHO returns Hong Kong and he questions YUET. YUET admits that she has done something wrong. KUNG is becoming tyrannical and HO steps in to mediate between different parties. LAI cannot bear to reveal that she has realized KUNG’s plan for some time. HO brings everybody to her daughter’s room and she moves all SA’s belongings to her room.

KA and YUET return home to find SA and MEI coming back as well. They also meet SA’s friend YUEN YAN TSZ and his mother. KA is shocked to find that MEI is such a beautiful woman. SA brings MEI to her room but MEI blames SA for not being considerate to other family members. YUET overhears their conversation. She tells everybody that TSZ is going to marry SA. MEI learns that KA is organizing a promotional event on aerobics and she voluntarily offers herself as the dancer. SA suggests postponing their wedding date and TSZ starts a quarrel with her. SUM discovers that SHUN is trying to keep a distance from her and she goes to Lamma Island alone. SUM meets SHUN there and SHUN reveals to her that he has got a 7-year girlfriend already. SUM decides to stop going further with SHUN. SA announces to everybody that she is going to get married with TSZ. She also suggests appointing TSZ as the shop manager of their cake shop and everyone is shocked.

Mid-autumn festival is coming. CHO suddenly arrives at HO’s cake shop and he wants to make a huge moon cake with a diameter of 33 inches. With the help of all children, CHO brings the huge moon cake to Moonlight Cake Shop secretly but he finally fails to bake the cake successfully. CHO doesn’t give up and he keeps on trying. HO is puzzled with CHO’s persistency but HING reminds her that CHO is trying to carry out his promise. During the family gathering on mid-autumn festival, LOK proposes marriage to HING and HING accepts. SHUN brings SUM to Lamma Island to visit the baby he helped to deliver. The two of them are feeling more intimate with each other. MEI is in trouble at work and she calls home to air her grievances. KA learns about the case and he rushes to MEI’s shop to protect her. KA finally decides to hire MEI and YUET is dissatisfied. SA and TSZ force TAT to call CHO for a compensation of 10 million dollars.… ...

Everybody discuss the wedding plan of HING. SA finds that CHO is willing to spend a lot on HING and she is jealous. TAT suggests holding the two wedding parties together. CHO doesn’t like it but HING welcomes the idea. CHO’s good friend suddenly dies. CHO worries that his children will live a hard life if he dies suddenly so he asks HUNG to prepare a 30 million dollars cheque for him. HUNG objects the idea but CHO insists to give the cheque to TAT. HUNG and HO meet in a restaurant. HUNG accuses HO for seducing CHO and she slaps her across the face. HO decides not to disclose this in front of others. HUNG tells SA that CHO has given 30 million dollars to TAT. SA questions TAT and TAT admits it reluctantly but he refuses to share the money with SA. On the wedding day, SA suddenly finds some evidence to prove that HO is not the daughter of TAT.… ...

TAT hands over the 30 million dollars cheque to CHO in front of SA and TSZ. SA blames TAT for doing so and she reiterates that she has evidence to prove that HO is not his real daughter. CHO doesn’t want SA to disturb the harmony of the family so he promises to give SA 3 million dollars. HO learns about the case from CHO eventually. She suggests carrying out a DNA test with SA and TAT. HO and YUET rush to China in the night and they finally learn about the truth. HO reveals to everybody that SA is actually an adopted daughter. SA wants to return to the family so she asks TSZ to take all the blame. However, TSZ reveals that he is returning to Portugal with his mother. SUM meets SHUN’s girlfriend WING LAM at the hospital and she finally tells SHUN that she wants a separation. WING HO searches around for SUM in the rain and he finally finds her.… ...

SA follows everybody to the restaurant for she wants to apologize herself but everybody ignores her. SA cries bitterly at the restaurant toilet and she throws her apology letter to the rubbish bin. Everybody discover that SA is sincere and they go to SA’s motel to visit her. MEI discloses her secret to KA. YUET finds that MEI and KA are acting intimately and she feels unhappy. HUNG and KUNG hand in their resignation letter with 16 other senior officers to CHO and CHO is enraged. HUNG is upset for CHO is seeing HO frequently. HUNG asks SA out. SA knows that HUNG has slapped HO across her face before so she wants to take a revenge for HO. SA fights with HUNG and HUNG falls down from the escalator accidentally. KUNG informs CHO about this and everybody believes that SA fights with HUNG for money. SA returns home to ask for help but everybody refuses to help her. The police finally arrest SA.

HUNG decides not to sue SA eventually. SA returns home but everybody kicks her out. HO and KUEN return Hong Kong. They invite SA to their home for a “final” dinner. SA discovers that HO actually trusts her and she is relieved. HO also helps to arrange the return of TSZ so that SA could reunite with him. HUNG returns home from the hospital. She suggests to CHO that she wants to hold a wedding banquet again on their wedding anniversary and CHO agrees. SUM invites WING HO to cycling and WING HO tries every ways to make SUM happy. HUNG wants to invite HO and all children to her wedding banquet but CHO refuses to do so. HUNG asks KUNG to defame CHO in front of the media so that CHO will follow her decision. CHO tries to send HO the wedding banquet invitation. WING HO learns about it and he accuses CHO for being shameless.… ...

CHO visits HO and the children. He finds that SA is requesting all family members help move her belongings for she has purchased a new flat downstairs. YUET is overjoyed that she will have a business trip to Hawaii with KA soon. MEI voluntarily asks to accompany them and KA agrees. MEI helps YUET to pick up her passport but she destroys it secretly while pretending that the passport was lost in a taxi. WING HO believes that SUM has recovered from her past love but he discovers that SUM has reunited with SHUN. YUET finds a postcard from Portugal and she discovers that MEI has got a son already. KA and MEI return to Hong Kong. They announce to everybody that they have become lovers. YUET receives a letter from the orphanage and she requests MEI to reveal the truth to KA within 3 days. MEI is enraged and everybody discover that YUET’s letter is a counterfeit. The real letter from the orphanage arrives later.… ...

CHO returns to work and HUNG asks everybody to submit a position paper on this. Old staff CHAU supports the return of CHO and HUNG punishes her secretly. LAI visits the resigned staffs with WING HO and she persuades them to return. LAI overhears the telephone conversation between HUNG and her ex-husband HAK KEUNG. She asks WING HO to follow HUNG with her. HUNG actually collaborates with KEUNG secretly and she is trying to purchase KEUNG’s stores with high price. KA accepts YUET’s promotional plan while giving up MEI’s plan and MEI is dissatisfied. During the performance, MEI plays tricks to lead YUET away from the venue and she replaces YUET’s performing role. In the evening, SA teases YUET for being lead away by trick so easily. HO cannot bear to speak up for YUET. Mrs YUEN also finds their action unbearable and she reveals the truth to everybody. MEI leaves the company. KA pretends to be easy going about her departure but he actually feels lost. SUM and HUNG go shopping together. They accidentally meet SHUN’s girlfriend WING LAM and HUNG realizes that SUM has become a third party in the relationship. MEI meets an old friend from Portugal called JIMMY and she tries to play tricks to gain KA’s love again. LAM suddenly visits SUM and she reveals that she has become sterile because of SHUN. LAI discovers that WING HO is crying in the park. She questions WING HO and he finally reveals that he is in love with SUM. HUNG asks SHUN out and she persuades him to separate with LAM. LAI is sick and HO visits her with all children. HUNG asks KUNG to tease WING HO for committing incest by loving SUM secretly. In order to protect SUM, WING HO lies to everybody that he is just being jealous of SHUN. SUM cannot bear to reveal to everyone that she is actually the third party in the relationship.

SUM asks SHUN out for she wants to end the relationship. SHUN reveals to SUM that he will separate with LAM. SA reveals that she is returning to Portugal with TSZ. HO suggests organizing a farewell party for her. During the farewell party, everybody helps reunite SA and MEI. HO invites TSZ to work in her cake shop so that SA could stay in Hong Kong. CHO reminds YUEN to put HUNG on his guard and YUEN scolds him for being skeptical angrily. KA and the other children go to CHO’s home. They request HUNG to handover the General Manager position to YUEN. Surprisingly, HUNG accepts their suggestion peacefully. All family members celebrate at HO’s place and CHO is relieved. KA discovers that somebody is disturbing MEI lately. This person is JIMMY and he claims himself as the father of RONALD. He requests MEI to give him money all the time. On the other hand, HUNG is actually taking full control of YUEN behind the scene.

JIMMY appears again to harass MEI. KA voluntarily settles the payment for MEI. MEI visits KA to return the money and she suddenly collapses when leaving. KA sends MEI to the hospital nervously and he eventually collapses because of serious heartache. MEI visits KA and she kisses him passionately. SHUN sells his flat and car. He gives all the money to LAM but LAM refuses to take anything. SHUN is very ashamed of himself. WING HO discovers that SHUN has decided to move to England with LAM and he informs SUM about this. SUM rushes to the airport desperately and she is heart-broken to realize that SHUN has chosen LAM eventually. YUET discovers that JIMMY is not the father of RONALD and she scolds MEI for telling lies again. MEI asks KA out and she reveals that she will not reunite with him. KEUNG brings HUNG to the grave of his wife. He reveals that his wife had requested him to make reparation to HUNG by all means.… ...

CHO is overjoyed to learn that HING is pregnant while dinning at HO’s place. HUNG invites MEI to dine at home and she asks YUEN to swim with MEI. YUEN reveals that he is dating with MEI and everyone is worried. CHO learns that HUNG continues to give orders to YUEN and she requests him to buy another new store again. He cannot bear it anymore and he proposes to divorce with HUNG but HUNG rejects. YUEN reveals to CHO that he had killed someone during a car accident in Thailand and KEUNG knows it. In order to help YUEN, CHO gives 20 million dollars to KEUNG and asks him to leave Hong Kong. However, HUNG suddenly invites KEUNG to be the deputy general manager in the company. HUNG invites KEUNG to have dinner at home. She announces that KEUNG is going to purchase 30% shares of Moonlight Cake Shop. CHO realizes that HUNG plans to take over the whole company and he is enraged. LAI is shocked to hear the news and she collapses. CHO meets KEUNG again and KEUNG hits his eyes. HUNG starts selling the shares of the company. LAI tries to stop her but HUNG asks YUEN to kick LAI away. LAI is enraged and she collapses again. The mid-autumn festival promotional event turns out to be a success but KA suddenly collapses afterwards. KA is sent to the hospital and the doctor says that KA is suffering from heart disease. CHO suddenly stops seeing all the children. HO encourages CHO to face the obstacles bravely and continues to take care of the children. YUEN tries to sell the company’s share to KEUNG but LAI arrives on time to stop them. CHO also steps in to stop the transaction.

CHO’s eye surgery is successful and LAI also recovers. Everybody visits KA and KA reveals that he is getting better now. YUEN and MEI plan to get married. LAI and the others decide to forgive MEI and MEI apologizes to HO sincerely. YUEN and MEI finally get married. HO knows that SUM still suffers from her lost love so he asks her to write him a diary everyday. MEI invites TSZ to work at Moonlight Cake Shop by offering him 50 thousand dollars salary. JIMMY returns from Portugal and he tries to blackmail MEI for she has married a rich man. MEI is frightened and she decides to abort the baby. HO tries to persuade MEI to give up the plan but MEI falls down accidentally while fighting with HO. YUEN returns from a business trip and MEI blames HO for causing her miscarriage. HO is shocked and she cries for MEI’s mercy. SA cannot bear it anymore. She takes out a rattan to beat MEI and reveals the truth to everybody.

KA’s heart disease is actually getting more serious and another heart attack could be fatal. SA meets up with MEI. She persuades MEI to apologize to everybody and reunite with YUEN but MEI ignores her. HO steps in to persuade MEI but MEI leaves coldly. WING HO follows KEUNG to the hotel. He persuades KEUNG to apologize to SUM and take good care of her. KEUNG suddenly collapses because of an old disease and WING HO asks SUM to visit KEUNG. SUM finds that KEUNG is dying and she agrees to forgive him perfunctorily. HO announces to everybody that HING is going to deliver a baby boy. She also tells everybody that KA’s heart disease is getting more serious. SUM discovers that SHUN has returned to Hong Kong but she eventually decides to be WING HO’s girlfriend.… ...

The lawyer tells HUNG that chance of winning the lawsuit is high. HUNG bribes TSZ to give fake evidence so as to further increase her chance of winning. HUNG organizes a press conference. SA questions her during the press conference in order to accuse HUNG and MEI in front of the public. HO announces that LAI is going to move to their place and everybody is overjoyed. SUM finds that SHUN is arguing with his boss at the hospital and SHUN eventually resigns. LAI is sent to the hospital again and she tells everyone her final wishes calmly. SUM discovers that LAM has died. She questions SHUN and SHUN reveals the truth to her. LAI leaves the hospital secretly to visit her old friends. Everybody learns that LAI is seriously injured in KAM’s family. LAI asks HUNG to meet her alone before she dies and she asks HUNG to carry out her 3 wishes. HUNG tries to procrastinate and LAI fails to speak a word before she dies.

SUM tells WING HO that SHUN did not marry LAM at all. WING HO is shocked and he suggests not see each other for a while. During the lawsuit for the divorce case, HUNG blames CHO in every ways and she keeps telling lies. MEI and TSZ further support HUNG by accusing CHO as a problematic husband. HUNG’s lawyer accuses CHO for being dependant all the time. HO and SA try to invite some old friend to support CHO in the court. They realize that LAI has visited these friends before she dies. CHO asks HUNG out and he promises to take only 20% company shares. HUNG accepts his suggestion but she requests CHO to sign a letter acknowledging that he has committed adultery with HO. HO and all children suddenly arrive to stop them. HO discloses the evidence of HUNG seducing her husband long time ago to the media. HO reads out the lover letter from HUNG to CHO aloud and CHO is very ashamed.

Everybody informs TSZ about this and TSZ finally apologize to SA. HUNG’s lawyer asks CHO if he wants to reunite with HO. CHO says yes and everybody in the court is shocked. SUM informs HUNG that she will become a volunteer doctor at Yunnan. She also reveals to HUNG the reasons for SHUN’s silent departure. WING HO learns that SUM is leaving Hong Kong with SHUN and he realizes that SUM has made her choice. KA reveals to everybody that HUNG is making an appeal at the court. HUNG asks MEI to reveal to the media that YUEN has killed someone in Thailand. However, MEI suddenly changes her mind and reveals to everybody that HUNG has killed LAI during the press conference.

MEI accuses HUNG for killing LAI and MUI also steps in to support her. WING HO calls SUM to inform her about HUNG’s case. SUM and SHUN rush back to Hong Kong immediately. SUM questions HUNG if she has killed LAI but HUNG denies. SUM is heartbroken and she says that she wants to move to England with SHUN. HUNG encourages SUM to marry SHUN and she asks SUM to tell lies for her at the court. SUM informs WING HO that she is going to marry SHUN. WING HO is heartbroken but he congratulates her calmly. Before the lawsuit, HUNG decides to gives 70% of her 80% company shares to SUM. She invites all senior management to the house to announce her decision but CHO suddenly appears to join the meeting. SUM reveals that she has decided to hand over all her shares to CHO and HO. HUNG is deeply shocked. SHUN reveals to WING HO that he was just pretending to marry SUM and SUM actually loves WING HO. As a result, he asks WING HO to take good care of SUM…
