世界禁片史上相当重要的一部影片，故事背景是19世纪末的欧洲某个独裁王国。王子鲁道夫由于不满父王的专制独裁和虚情假意，故意通过一种离经叛道的淫乱生活，以不断制造性丑闻来羞辱这个可笑的国家体制。片中有很多荒谬的淫虐过程如杂交等行为，甚至出现了男性阳具正面竖起的镜头，这种“恶俗”做法在性观念比较开放的欧洲也不是每个国家都能接受，所以禁映此片的国家甚多。
