On Christmas Eve night, a swirling blizzard envelops the mountain town of Miradero, practically shutting down all transportation and forcing the girls to walk almost through the night, over two hours, to get home when their train breaks down. When the townspeople wake up on Christmas day, there are no snow piles or remnants seen anywhere in the town.
