Scottish mercenary and ex-SAS operative Peter McAleese has 84 kills to his name. In 1989, he was hired by a Colombian drug cartel as part of an elite unit of ex-special forces commandos recruited to assassinate notorious drug baron Pablo Escobar. Killing Escobar uses home movie footage, fresh interviews and staged reconstructions to tell the story of that mission. It also allows McAleese, now 78, to reflect on the demons that haunt him from a life of violence and regret that stretches from his tough upbringing in Shettleston, Glasgow to the battlefields of Angola and South Africa.
