The wonderful first feature from award-winning playwright Philip Doherty squeezes tar-black comedy and soulful reflections from an irresistible Groundhog Day-style premise. Prodigal son Jimmy Cullen (Aaron Monaghan) returns home to a villain’s welcome. His father uses the last breath in his body to try and strangle him. When dad dies, all that remains is to bury him and mourn. But there’s a catch. The will stipulates that he cannot be laid to rest on a day when it rains. As the heavens are permanently open in Ballylough, Jimmy is now stuck in his own private hell.
