The badly injured corpse of a man who was battered to death with an ice stick, lies on a frozen lake. First one at the crime scene is former policeman Sepp Ahorner, who lives his daily life modest and secluded. Sepp immediately starts the investigations on his own, ignoring the support of his two female colleagues. What was first believed to be a murder on the grounds of jealousy soon turns out to be far more than that.
