He meets tribal people, 'ordinary' locals, people from (often foreign) exploiting firms, even drug traders, rebels and soldiers chasing those.

Bruce also meets the loggers who are blamed for cutting down swathes of the forest. Farther along the river, the Marubo tribe prove more lively with dancing and rituals through the night.
